New DC COMICS BOMBSHELLS Merch Debuts at Toy Fair 2017

DC Comics Bombshells started out as a line of high-end statues from the publisher based on the ’40s pin-up aesthetic art of illustrator Ant Lucia. Since it first debuted in 2013 though, it’s exploded into its own line of merchandise, covering calendars, stickers, clothing—you name it. There’s even a DC Comics Bombshells regular comic book series, set in an alternate world where female superheroes were the ones who arrived first during the World War II era, and the male heroes are the ones who followed their lead. (And it’s pretty great.) And now their newest line of merch has been unveiled and it’s a veritable smorgasbord of goodies.

Debuting at Toy Fair 2017, (via io9) we now have our first glimpse at a new set of cool DC Bombshells merchandise to spend our hard-earned pennies on, including one classic DC character that has never made it into the line before. First off, The next wave of Bombshells-themed toys will be 6.75 inch action figures in the DC Designer Series, and will feature Hawkgirl, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans member Bumblebee, Mera, and the Suicide Squad’s sword-wielding Katana. This wave of figure will retail for around $25-30, and should hit by the end of the year.

Next up, there will be two new additions in the Bombshells statuette line, with the first coming later in the year. Coming in September is Harley Quinn—arguably the most popular character in the entire line—which will be a 12″ representation of Lucia’s original Harley Quinn concept art for the line, featuring the character riding a falling bomb.

Harley will be followed up by a Starfire statue in early 2018. This will be the first time the character has been a part of the DC Comics Bombshells line, which is startling, seeing as the Teen Titans character has been portrayed as sexy and scantily-clad since day one in the regular DC Universe. The new Bombshells statue will feature the Princess of Tamaran posing as sexy firefighter. Both of the statues will retail for around $200.

What do you think of the latest additions to the line? Is there a particular DC heroine who you think deserves to join up (putting in my two cents for Donna Troy please!) Let us know down below in the comments.
