DAREDEVIL Theme is Just as Broody When Done A Capella

March 21 is the first Monday after Daredevil season two premiered on Netflix. Other than your regular to-do list of checking weekend e-mail and making coffee, the first part of the morning will be figuring out which co-workers also binged the entire season so you can talk about it without risking spoilers. For those of you that had “other stuff to do,” you can check out this video by the Warp Zone, in which they give Daredevil‘s theme song the a capella treatment.

Just like in their other videos, each member of the group is dressed up as one of the show’s characters. Elektra, Kingpin, Punisher, Matt Murdock, and “Man Without Fear” Daredevil are represented.

While I like the song on an individual basis, I am not sure if it fits the theme for the “Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.” When I hear the Batman theme, I can imagine him looking over Gotham with it playing. When Superman is flying above the Earth, John Williams‘ theme is the first in my head. When I am watching Daredevil take on thugs, etc (I think “thugs” is a good spoiler-free term), this wouldn’t be the theme that comes to mind. Regardless of how it matches our hero, Warp Zone definitely did the song justice.

You can check out more of the Warp Zone’s a capella videos on their YouTube channel here.

Daredevil seasons one and two are currently streaming on Netflix.

So what do you think? Is the Daredevil theme better a capella? Should the theme have some awesome “I’M FIGHTING NINJAS! HOLY CRAP IT’S THE PUNISHER!” guitar riffs? Let me know on Twitter or keep your vocal cords healthy with some tea and honey in the comments below.
