Coming Up This Week on the Nerdist Podcast Network: Griswold’s Son, Silent Bob, T-1000, and More

This week on the Nerdist Podcast Network? Well, the Nerdist Podcast itself is going to have a banner week with star power from guests Ed Helms, Kevin Smith, and Robert Patrick. This is Ed’s second visit; you can revisit the first time and keep your ears open for the new one, on which Ed reveals stuff about his approach to his role as Clark Griswold’s son in the new Vacation reboot you will not hear anywhere else, plus bluegrass talk (of course) and a warning about the dangers of auto-response. Kevin’s making his third appearance (here’s one and two), and this time he’s about to premiere his new movie Tusk. And Robert’s new CBS series Scorpion, which he talked to us about at Comic-Con, premieres September 22nd.

Yeah, that’s a pretty impressive lineup right there already.

But there will be more. Erin Foley, comedian, Sports Without Balls podcast host, @midnight contestant, will be Janet Varney’s guest as the Boys of Summer go away and The JV Club resumes its regular format.

Even more: Cameron Esposito, who was one of Pete Holmes’ guests on this year’s live You Made it Weird at Just for Laughs Montreal, comes back for a solo shot on YMIW. You know from her appearances on Terrified with Dave Ross and The K Ohle that she’s a great podcast guest as well as podcaster, and the prospect of Pete and Cameron having one of the usual YMIW deep dives into weirdness should have you constantly checking your podcast app until it shows up Wednesday.

Hey, BeyondFest is coming up in L.A. in a week or so (okay, starting September 25th with a screening of Horns presented with Fantastic Fest, and if you’re into genre flicks, you gotta go. And you should be preparing for it by listening to The Mutant Season this week, because Gil’s talking to Christian Parkes and Grant Moninger about this year’s event.

Carrie Clifford was so much fun on her first visit to Chewin’ It with Kevin and Steve, she’s back for more. Remember, she was in The Slammin’ Salmon. She’s also very funny. Don’t miss it.

Aaaaand, there WILL be a new Mike and Tom Eat Snacks, and new editions of Ding-Donger with Matt Braunger and The K Ohle with Kurt Braunohler, plus others TBA. A full week, yes. Come, listen, subscribe. You will not be disappointed.

  1. Why do they have to reboot the Vacation Franchise? There is nothing wrong with the originals.
