Chris Hardwick Will Be TALKING on AMC Year Round

Talking Dead has become just as big a part of Sunday night zombie watching as The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, and the Chris Hardwick-hosted program has popularized the aftershow as a must-have commodity following shows with big fan bases. But what’s a fan of Talking Dead to do during the hefty part of the year when there are no new walkers to kill? AMC is betting we’d still like to Talk about something. Via Deadline, the basic cable giant will be launching Talking with Chris Hardwick, a weekly chat show about all kinds of pop culture, not just a single show.

Talking will have the skin of Talking Dead, the soul of the Nerdist podcast, and the guts of a Comic-Con panel,” Hardwick said. “I have loved learning how to do a talk show these last six years on Talking Dead but am eager to expand the format into other areas of pop culture.”

Suspicious-Activity-Talking-Dead

It’ll essentially be a panel show once a week, with the same social media presence and audience participation as Talking Dead (and the other AMC aftershows, for things like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and Preacher) but will not be tethered to one property, with the conversation with the panel able to go all over the place, much like it does on the podcast. Sort of a win-win, right?

Talking with Chris Hardwick will premiere Sunday, April 9, the week after the season seven finale of The Walking Dead. So, you won’t have any gap at all in your viewing habits.
