Good news for any and all who were enchanted by Netflix’s macabre Halloween ’18 release, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: the show will be around for years to come. With a second season still looming over the horizon, prepped for release on the streaming platform in April of 2019, Sabrina has nonetheless officially put a third and fourth season into motion. Variety reports that Netflix has ordered 16 more episodes of the program to be distributed among the two seasons, which will begin production in ’19 and presumably reach the viewing public in 2020 and 2021. In the meantime, we’ve got Sabrina‘s holiday special, which only just hit the ‘net on December 14, to fill the Greendale void.
Over the span of the first stretch of episodes, we watched Sabrina come to terms with her conflicted position at the nexus of two worlds: the mortal world and the grip of the dark lord himself. Tearing the 16-year-old witch in either direction were pressures from her family (namely Aunts Hilda and Zelda), other magically inclined peers, and powerless friends (and more-than-friends) like Harvey Kinkle.The future of the series promises plenty of intrigue for Sabrina and her inner circle, and three seasons yet to come have the opportunity to explore what life will be like for this particular young witch as she continues on through high school and potentially college.
