Bossk is Epically Heavy in New Video for “Kobe” (Premiere)

Bossk has been quiet for a while. The band with the best name in heavy music has not released new music since 2013, when they put out a fantastic single called “Pick Up Artist.” One of the most original and epic bands in the post-hardcore, post-metal scene was off most folks’ radar, which was a bummer beyond belief. That is, of course, until Deathwish Inc. announced, out of nowhere, that Bossk has a new album called Audio Noir coming on April 1st.

Audio Noir by Bossk

We partnered with Deathwish Inc. to provide you, oh lover of heavy jams, with the premiere of the music video of a new track from Audio Noir called “Kobe.” The video is surreal and haunting, a mixture of geometrical shapes, vast landscapes, and silhouettes of the band. It moves like a dream, trickling into your brain and taking you on a atmospheric trip across time and space. It’s a swirling and cascading collection of images, both static and in motion. Bossk is a band that has always relished in the visual–just look at their gorgeous, nature-themed album covers–and the video for “Kobe” is just one more piece of their puzzle.

The song itself is beautiful. It shifts tons drastically from soaring melodies to grinding, sludge-infused metal. Bossk push the boundaries of musical genres; they can’t be defined or held in place. If “Kobe” is a taste of what Audio Noir will deliver, then Bossk is poised to deliver one of the best heavy albums in years. There’s something inherently hypnotic about Bossk’s music, something that sticks with you. If you are a fan of bands like …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Cult of Luna, and Neurosis, you have to listen to Bossk. I mean, not only do they rock, but their name is Bossk. Ten points for rocking and ten bonus points for the Star Wars reference.
