ATTACK ON TITAN Game to Include New Story Content from Creator Hajime Isayama

The new Attack on Titan title that’s slashing in from Omega Force will have something for newcomers and long-time fans alike.

In an interview with Famitsu (translated by Gematsu), producer Hisashi Koinuma and director Tomoyuki Kitamuta revealed that the upcoming game will include completely new story material written by AoT creator, Hajime Isayama. Boom!

The new story content will take a look at some of the characters’ backgrounds. So, long-time fans of the manga will have additional incentive to nab a copy of this title when it finally hits shelves. Conversely, newcomers have nothing to worry about, because the in-game campaign will cover the first season of the anime. Every fan is taken care of here.

The Titan-sized news drop also disclosed the 10-playable characters, which include: Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Krista, Sasha, Connie, Jean, Levi, Hange, and Erwin. The whole gang is here. After you complete the story mode, you’ll be able to play through different stages with any of the above characters.

A new mode was also discussed, and referred to as, “Investigation Outside the Walls Mode” where you can go on different missions to develop your character, find loot, and make money, presumably outside of the massive walls protecting mankind from the human eating Titans.

All right, that’s a whole lot of information to consume, but it all sounds fairly promising. No one has been able to make the definitive AoT experience on consoles yet, so this title can certainly be the one to capture our hearts. At the end of the day, the game needs to get the feel of high-octane action right, and also make sure the humanoid Titans actually feel threatening.

What do you guys think about this news? Are you even more excited now that new story content will be included? Let us know in the comments below.
