Have you been naughty or nice this year? You’d better hope nice, if David Harbour’s Santa is the one coming down your chimney. Because this Santa will want more than milk and cookies. There have been many takes on a naughty, R-rated Santa’s before, but Violent Nights looks like it will bring us something genuinely ridiculous. And preserve Santa’s heroism, while letting him blow up men by putting coal down their pants. Yep, Violent Night has it all, and its trailer gets us ready for the fun.

The description for Violent Night that comes with its trailer shares more about the movie. The synopsis reads:
To hell with “all is calm.”
From 87North, the bare-knuckle producers of Nobody, John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Bullet Train and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw comes a coal-dark holiday action-comedy that says you should always bet on red.
When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, Stranger Things series) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.
The film also stars Emmy winner John Leguizamo (John Wick), Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Alex Hassell (Cowboy Bebop), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones) and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise).
Nick is no saint, but in this case, its in service of the nice list. So, we’ll give him a pass. But, if the Violent Night trailer is any indication, we bet the mercenaries are about to regret their life choices. As Harbour’s Santa delightedly declares, “Time for some season’s beatings.”
Violent Night releases in theaters on December 2. It may be just the thing we all need in our lives right now. I know I laughed out loud at the absurdity of its trailer. Nothing but sheer, dumb fun for the holidays… If you’ve been good, that is.
