Spooky movie and TV season is almost here. And of course, Netflix is ready for it all with their own lineup of shows and films arriving just in time for Halloween. The streaming giant is rolling out “Netflix and Chills” with tons of scary and funny offerings for viewers. The lineup includes everything from the highly anticipated Ratched series to more Unsolved Mysteries to uncover. But fans of horror comedy might really get into Vampires Vs. The Bronx, which is set to premiere on October 2. The first trailer indicates the movie is going to be a spooky delight.

The film will follow a group of teens fighting to save The Bronx from a vampire invasion. Vampires Vs. The Bronx is directed by Oz Rodriguez and stars Jaden Michael, Gerald W. Jones III, Sarah Gadon, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, and Joel “The Kid Mero” Martinez of Desus & Mero fame. Right now there aren’t many additional plot details, but the first images give off Attack the Block vibes.

The first photo shows the inevitable core group of friends that will come together to ward off vampires. It’s great to see Black and Latine kids in these types of roles and hopefully the group’s girl member will play a key role in the narrative too. And, just maybe, she won’t be the only girl in the story.

There’s a pic of Mero and several of the kids going down a dark hallway as well as Method Man in what looks like a priest’s robe. The last image shows a man with long hair and a creepy expression standing outside of a store. We could be wrong but he looks like a classic vampire.

The streamer also released a few more first-look images that are incredibly intriguing.

Vampires Vs. The Bronx looks like a fun and wild story with just enough humor for those who don’t like straight up horror.
