We love a good werewolf movie. Unfortunately, the monsters get a little less attention than zombies and vampires. Which is a shame, because werewolves have the same terror to offer: body horror, gore, running and hiding—all that good horror stuff! So when a new werewolf movie comes around the bend? Well, it has our attention.

Cue the new trailer for The Wolf of Snow Hollow. This thing looks both cozy and frightening all at once. Check it out below.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow comes from writer/director/actor Jim Cummings. It’s a follow-up to his last film, the critically acclaimed Thunder Road. It stars the late Robert Forster in his final role, along with Riki Lindhome, Chloe East, and Jimmy Tatro. Here’s the official synopsis:

The film follows a small-town sheriff, struggling with a failed marriage, a rebellious daughter, and a lackluster department, [who] is tasked with solving a series of brutal murders that are occurring on the full moon. As he’s consumed by the hunt for the killer, he struggles to remind himself that there’s no such thing as werewolves…

Hmm. We have a feeling there are such thing as werewolves and this small-town sheriff is about to have a rude awakening.

In addition to the trailer, Orion Classics also debuted this terrific first poster.

The trailer for The Wolf of Snow Hollow features the song “Little Red Riding Hood” arranged by Ben Lovett with vocals from Valen. Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack.

We’re really digging the vibe of this trailer. And we’re always happy to see more Robert Forster. The Academy Award-nominated actor passed away last year, so this will be a lovely way to remember him.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow will play in theaters and on demand on October 9.
