The Last Garden: A Game That Brings Beauty to the Post-Apocalypse

Powered by Geek & Sundry

For decades, we’ve vividly imagined what life would be like in a post-apocalyptic world. Sometimes those visions are frightening. But in the upcoming board game, The Last Garden, One Thousand XP’s Chris Rowlands and Matt Christianson have envisioned a future where beauty did not die with the human race. One woman remains to see what comes next, and the last garden ever created will rise in her honor.

One Thousand XP has launched a Kickstarter campaign for The Last Garden; which has already exceeded its fundraising goal. As noted above, the game takes place in a future where a lone female is all that remains of the human race. Now calling herself the Queen, she has gathered out-of-commission robots and transformed them into Robotanists. And while nothing may grow in the wasteland, the Queen and the Robotanists have come upon a unique solution. The Robotanists will use metal and rare gems to create artificial gardens, all in the name of finding favor with the Queen.

The Last Garden was designed with two-to-four players in mind, and each game can be played in under an hour.  The reward tier for the Kickstarter campaign is also refreshingly straightforward. There is only the single reward tier. For $35 plus a shipping fee, fans all over the world will be able to get their hands on The Last Garden and all of the stretch goal rewards as well.

If you want to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign or you’re looking for more information about The Last Garden, then you can visit the official page here. The Kickstarter campaign will run until Tuesday, March 28th, and the game is expected to ship in November of this year.
