That motley crew of clones is back, in a galaxy that no longer wants them. At Star Wars Celebration, fans got their first look at the trailer for the second season of The Bad Batch, which chronicles the post-prequel trilogy adventures of Clone Force 99. At Disney’s D23 Expo, we learned that The Bad Batch will release on January 4, 2023. And now, you can now watch the full trailer for year two of this spiritual sequel to The Clone Wars right here:

All the members of Clone Force 99 are back for season two, voiced by the great Dee Bradley Baker. And right alongside them is their young charge, the clone child Omega. Star Wars sure likes badass warriors with precocious young children, doesn’t it? Mando and Grogu, Obi-Wan and Leia, and Clone Force 99 and Omega. But hey, it’s a formula that works. And one we’re totally here for.

The Bad Batch Season 2 Teaser and Synopsis

You can also check out the previously released teaser for season two of the show below.

The synopsis for The Bad Batch season two shares:

Months have passed since the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.

The end of season one saw the obliterating of the clone facilities on the planet Kamino. And the beginning in earnest of the Imperial era of the galaxy. And from the look of it, things aren’t going to be getting much easier for these remnants of the Old Republic in year two. Then there’s that tantalizing ending for season one. That not only ties into some old Expanded Universe lore but also certain controversial aspects of The Rise of Skywalker. We are sure to see that explored further in year two.

Lucasfilm

The immediate post-Revenge of the Sith era was largely unexplored until this series. And so far, it’s providing fans with a glimpse into the earliest days of the Imperial reign. Will series creator Dave Filoni bring in more tie-ins to his previous Star Wars animated shows like The Clone Wars and Rebels? There are certainly opportunities to connect events from The Book of Boba Fett into the story as well since Omega is technically Boba’s sister. Lots of possibilities, and we can’t wait to see how it all shakes out for Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Echo, and Omega in year two of The Bad Batch.

The second season of the show will premiere on Disney+ on January 4.
