Admiral Jean-Luc Picard is embarking on his final mission, and he’s bringing the crew of the Enterprise-D with him. Revealed as part of Star Trek Day, Paramount+ has revealed the first full teaser for the final season of Star Trek: Picard, which sees Sir Patrick Stewart reunite with his Star Trek: The Next Generation castmates. Watch the goosebump-inducing trailer for the third and final season right here, and then we’ll unpack all the reveals we saw.

First off, it looks like a Starfleet installation, presumably on Earth, is destroyed. One might assume the destroyed building is Starfleet HQ, but the surroundings don’t appear to be in San Francisco. For possibly related reasons, Beverly Crusher ( Gates McFadden), out on a mission in space it seems, is asking for her old friend Admiral Picard’s help. That’s when we see Picard ask his former Number One, William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes), for assistance in finding a ship. And this is where the real fun begins.

We get our first glimpse of Starfleet spacedock in this series. Although it has had additions made, this is the very same spacedock originally seen in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, and many subsequent Treks since. Inside, we see a new ship, although it’s one we have heard of before — the U.S.S. Titan. Fans might remember that the Titan was the ship that Riker took on as Captain after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis. But it appears that the now commander Seven of Nine is part of the command crew of this vessel. It’s about time she got an official Starfleet rank, we say.

Finally, we see glimpses of the other returning cast. There are brief shots of Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Worf (Michael Dorn), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), and Raffi (Michelle Hurd). No sign yet of Brent Spiner. But we know the former Data is coming back as a “new/old character.” Could it be Lore? B-4? Yet another in the line of Soong mad scientists? We’ll find out when Star Trek: Picard returns on February 16, 2023, on Paramount+.
