In their hearts, many MCU fans had already begun the process of saying goodbye to Tom Holland’s Spidey. After all, Holland’s Spider-Man clocks in as a veteran lead at this point. Plus, Holland has shared he doesn’t want to play Spider-Man forever. Not to mention, Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to create many opportunities for a changing of the guard. The movie will delve deeply into the MCU’s multiverse. But now we’ve learned Sony and Marvel have another three new Spider-Man movies planned. And these new Spider-Man movies seem to star Tom Holland.

Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Tom Holland will star in new Spider-Man movies

Sony producer Amy Pascal shared the following with  Fandango:

This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie. We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.

She further clarifies, “Yes, Marvel and Sony are going to keep going together as partners.”

That seems like a very clear-cut response. And one we feel both surprised, but glad, to hear. (Especially after Spider-Man almost left the MCU in 2019.) Still, it seems curious for the notoriously tight-lipped studios to spill the beans on a new trilogy so close to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. But, of course, there would be no shortage of things to explore in a new Spider-Man trilogy. So it makes complete sense for a new Spider-Man trilogy to exist.

Aside from the many new MCU movies set to release, relevant Sony-Marvel movies such as Blade and Morbius are just around the corner. Not to mention we would love more opportunity to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man interact with Tom Hardy’s Venom… Or maybe a cinematic version of the Sinister Six.

Whatever lies around the corner, we’ll toast to three new Tom Holland MCU Spider-Man movies. And, in the meanwhile, we’ll get excited for Spider-Man: No Way Home which releases December 17.
