We doubt most people woke up today expecting to think about Shrek, but that’s only because no one thought they would awaken to the surprising news Universal Pictures plans to reboot the franchise with Illumination Entertainment head and Minions producer Chris Meledandri. It’s an announcement that sent the internet scurrying to their computers to express shock, skepticism, disgust, and, most importantly, jokes. But is there reason to think these reactions could end up making everyone look like donkeys? On today’s Nerdist News, host Jessica Chobot looks at the unlikely report that Shrek and Puss in Boots are slated to return to theaters in the future with all new stories.
