Rick and Morty‘s sixth season might very well debut in 2022. But don’t worry. Even if the show doesn’t return next year fans will still get more of their favorite multidimensional travel mates. Rick and Morty will parody sci-fi movie classics in a new series of comic book adventures. And that will include them taking on Dune, Star Wars, and Logan’s Run.

Oni Press and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have announced they’ve teamed with Adult Swim on three all-new Rick and Morty stories. Each will debut in 2022. The first will be extra spice-y. Rick and Morty Presents: HeRICKtics of Rick will launch on January 26. The one-shot comic from Amy Chu (Poison Ivy: Circle of Life, Sea Sirens) and Alexander Chang. With art by Sarah Stern (Rick and Morty, Aggretsuko). And lettering by crank! The story will see the duo head to a planet of incredible fortune and political intrigue. And a whole lot of sand. From the official announcement:

“When Rick finds the source of a new, incredibly powerful substance, he lays claim to an entire planet in order to corner the market. But Rick and Morty aren’t the only ones on the recently renamed Arrickis, and the original inhabitants aren’t going to go away quietly. Soon they become embroiled in the local political and religious struggle, forcing them to try and escape not only with their lives, but with their minds intact!”

Two other comics will follow the Dune spoof. Rick and Morty Presents: Morty’s Run will take on the 1976 dystopian film Logan’s Run. In the comic “Morty finds out he’s going to summer camp and will do anything to escape, including listening to Rick. Can Morty survive a world ruled by thirteen-year-olds all by himself?”

Ivan Cohen (Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries, Justice League: The One Where…) writes. With illustrations by Puste (Rick and Morty). Leonardo Ito (Batman’89, Rick and Morty) colors, and crank! is back for more lettering.

Finally, ooo weee, Rick and Morty Presents: Infinity Hour will be the pair’s latest Star Wars parody. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Rick has always known he was destined for greater things but when that greater thing calls, will he be ready to answer? In the four-issue miniseries Rick and Morty: Infinity Hour, Rick is recruited to join a galactic rebellion, forming a bond with a ragtag group of freedom fighters, mystics, and mercenaries. Can this team of would-be heroes overthrow the Galactic Federation?”

Mags Visaggio (Rick and Morty, Lost on Planet Earth) writes/ Marc Ellerby (Rick and Morty) provide illustrations. With Ito and Crank! also joining in on the fun again.

“This prequel is going to break your heart one second and make you punch your fist in the air the next,” said Ellerby in a statement. “Mags has written a great script, and I’m incredibly excited to team up with the legend that is Leonardo Ito on colors, one of the best color artists working in the industry today.”

Morty’s Run and Infinity Hour both hit stores March 2. And if season six follows these comics it’s really going to be one squanchy year for Rick and Morty fans.
