Paul Rudd is truly ageless. Yes, technically, he’s 51-years-old. But you wouldn’t know by looking at him. We’re convinced he made some kind of pact of with the Dark Forces to look young forever. Due to his “certified young person” status, the perpetually twenty-something actor was asked by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to make a PSA about the importance of wearing masks to stop the spread of COVID-19. A PSA specifically made to target his age group of “fellow millennials.”

There’s not a millennial piece of slang that goes unused in this PSA. He even “stans” Billie Eilish and uses the phrase “yeet” at one point. Rudd even manages to mock his own current meme star status. We’re referring of course to the Paul Rudd episode of the YouTube series Hot Ones. You know, the one where an overly enthusiastic Rudd says, “Look at us. Hey, look at us.” To which series host Sean Evans replies, “Who would’ve thought?” And just like that, a meme was born. A meme which lives and thrives to this day.

The Hot Ones

As Rudd says in the PSA video, he shouldn’t have to make the message fun just to get younger folks to do the common sense thing. But sadly, this is the world we live in. And some people (who shall remain nameless) still don’t believe in science and need the extra push. So if this PSA can get a few more millennials and Gen Z types to actually take the necessary precautions and potentially save lives?  Well, then that makes Paul Rudd a bigger superhero in real life than any he might play in the MCU.

And not to brag or anything, but some of us have known he’s a superhero ever since Clueless.
