In 2021, we’re accustomed to television with cinematic production. You don’t need to go to theaters to see elaborate sets, huge stars, and thrilling action sequences anymore. You can get all of those from your couch, week after week. But that wasn’t always the case. Not that long ago, a massive divide lived between movies and TV shows. That was until one series changed everything forever.

The year was 1984. Two unlikely coworkers-turned-friends joined forces to bring down a cartel of terror, with all of the pomp and circumstance of the silver screen. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier partnered for the game-changing Marvel Vice.

Dust off that old VCR buried in the back of your closest. It’s time for our latest Nerdist Remix to transport you back to the show and era that revolutionized television, with the opening credits for Marvel Vice. The MCU series brought together Sam Wilson and James “Bucky” Barnes to try and stop a team of super soldiers. Their biggest fight wasn’t with the Flag Smashers, though. It was with each other. The pair’s notoriously rocky relationship threatened the entire world.

Thanks to the show’s memorable cast, they did have some help along the way. Unfortunately, they also had plenty more enemies lurking in the shadows. It’s a story full of danger, political intrigue, and a whole lot of synthesizers. Presented exclusively in state-of-the-art WandaVision.

Marvel Vice is the latest Nerdist Remix from our our own mad scientist, Matt Caron. He dedicates this trailer to Dr. Wilfred Nagel, who sadly passed away during the making of the show. Series regular “Dancing” Baron Zemo continues to serve a life sentence for the murder.

But that’s a small piece of the show’s history. Its true legacy remains unquestioned. (Unlike that cheap knockoff Miami Vice everyone forgets about.) Marvel Vice brought the movies to the small screen, and TV has never been the same since.

Maybe they should do a modern reboot. Buddy cop shows are timeless.
