Firaxis Games and Marvel Entertainment have just released the first trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, their latest RPG strategy video game. A ton of Marvel favorites are a part of this one, including Captain America and Captain Marvel, along with Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Wolverine, and Ghost Rider. And making a much welcome return is Blade. Hi there, Daywalker, we’ve missed you around these parts. You can watch the full gameplay reveal trailer right here:

If you’re a Marvel fan and are wondering who the heck the Midnight Suns are, we’re here to help. In the comics, the Midnight Suns were actually the Midnight Sons. But we’re guessing Marvel wanted to go more literal, so it doesn’t feel like it’s just a boys club. The Midnight Sons fought off supernatural bad guys like the demonic Zarathos, as well as Dracula and his daughter, Lilith. They peaked in the ’90s, when they received a spin-off anthology book, Midnight Sons Unlimited.

The Midnight Sons consisted mainly of Marvel’s supernatural characters. The early team line-ups featured Doctor Strange, Werewolf by Night, Ghost Rider, Damian Helstrom, Jennifer Kale, Morbius, Blade, and Moon Knight. Spidey villainess Black Cat joined up once. She’s not supernatural, but a spooky-themed team needs a black cat, right? Even the Punisher was a Midnight Son once. Maybe since his chest emblem is a skull, he qualified.

The new game has several non-spooky Marvel heroes, which is kind of surprising. But they are far more known to general audiences. And having several Avengers and Wolverine might boost sales. We can’t help but wonder if this video game is a precursor to something happening in the live-action sphere. Certainly, with Blade on the way as well as Moon Knight, it only makes sense. The MCU needs a good supernatural team. Smells like a Disney+ show in the making to us.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to release in March of 2022.
