Of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phases, the soon-to-be-completed Phase 3 had the most films by far. There were ten in the bunch, when you include the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. By contrast, both Phase 1 and Phase 2 just had six films each.

And we think it’s fair to say that Phase 3 was Marvel’s creatively strongest. Not a single stinker in the bunch; everyone involved is firing on all cylinders. Now, we’ve learned of a fan and YouTuber by the name of Clark Zhu (via Comic Book) who has created an amazing fan edit retrospective of the final films in what is now labeled as “the Infinity Saga.”

The video shows us poignant moments from all ten films. It really makes you realize how, even though Phase 3 only began in 2016, it has already given us so many iconic scenes. Who can forget Black Panther coming back from near death to reclaim his throne, Hela invading Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok, or the superhero battle to end all superhero battles in Captain America: Civil War? Not to mention a certain Thanos induced “Snappening” in Infinity War. Over the past three years, Kevin Feige and filmmakers like Ryan Coogler and the Russo Brothers have been simply knocking them out of the park. Somehow, Marvel Studios manage to keep outdoing themselves.

In a nice touch, Zhu dedicated his “farewell, Infinity Saga” video to the late Stan Lee. Avengers: Endgame will be Lee’s final cameo in a Marvel film. We can bet it won’t leave a dry eye in the house when it happens. The video is ultimately as much a tribute to Lee’s creative genius as it is to the films themselves. Not only Lee, but also his early Marvel collaborators like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Without them, our entertainment world would be far less marvelous.
