Puzzles are having a moment. Everyone is looking for something (anything!) to do during quarantine. And a thousand piece puzzle is an easy way to pass a lot of time. But what are you supposed to do with it when you’re done? Finished puzzles just takes up space. All you can do is look at them before putting them back the box. You certainly can’t play with one, put in on a book shelf, or defend the galaxy from an evil empire. Fortunately there’s a type of puzzle that can do all of those things— LEGOs. And now you can join the Rebellion, fill up all those free hours you have, and display a great-looking collectible with LEGO’s massive new Star Wars set, the company’s most detailed A-Wing ever.

LEGO has announced (in news we first heard at THR) the fan-favorite A-Wing is joining the company’s lineup of Ultimate Collectors Series sets from the galaxy far, far away. The beloved wedge-shaped strike fighter was first seen in Return of the Jedi. A-Wings also appeared in The Last Jedi and the Star Wars: Rebels animated series.

The “highly-detailed” 1,673 piece-set includes a “new-for-May 2020 A-wing pilot minifigure and removable canopy, which allows builders access to the ship’s detailed cockpit for the first time ever.” It also comes with “pivoting laser cannons, which have been faithfully recreated in LEGO brick form.”

Thanks to its display stand, which features an information plaque, the entire set stands 10.5-inches high, 16.5-inches long, and 10-inches wide. It will be available directly from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com beginning on May 1. The only thing flat puzzles have over this collectible is the accompanying price tag. The A-Wing Ultimate Collectors Series set will cost you $199.99.

But after a few more months of social distancing, we might not even care about the cost. We need something to do, and we don’t have room on our desks for puzzles.
