LEGO‘s massive new set is quite grand, but not just because it’s a piano. This fan-designed model is more than a dapper collectible for your home. It’s also a playable mini piano so you can make beautiful music yourself.

The LEGO Group’s brand-new Grand Piano (which we first heard about at DesignTAXI) comes in at a whopping 3,662-pieces. It stands over 8.5-inches tall, 12-inches wide, and 13.5-inches deep when closed. It also features “ intricate elements of a real grand piano,” including “a removable 25-key keyboard, a top lid that can be propped up, an authentic hammer action and a moving damper and pedal.”

But what makes this first-of-its-kind LEGO set special is that it has a motor and working keys. They connect to LEGO’s Powered Up app. That gives composers and music lovers alike the chance to have a beautiful item make beautiful music.

“Talented builders can try their hand at creating their own masterpiece on the LEGO Ideas Grand Piano using the LEGO Powered Up app, which allows them full control of the musical notes and piano keys. Alternatively, those looking to sit back and relax can choose to select ‘auto-play’ and enjoy the dulcet tones of one of the ten pre-set songs available.”

The set’s design was submitted by music teacher Danny Chen to LEGO Ideas. It received more than enough fan support for formal consideration. LEGO loved it so much they added the power functions to make it into a working instrument. And in a very cool nod to its designer touch, LEGO also added a music sheet composed by Donny himself to the set.

The Grand Piano set is now available at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. However, even with its grand price tag of $349.99 it sold out within a few days of going on sale. So keep an eye out if you’re hoping to grab one yourself.

And if you do, celebrate by throwing your own little concert.
