With 2021 almost behind us, Mephisto Watch 2022 is right around the corner. Nerdist has been on the forefront of said watch for some time. Now we’re excited to see some famous faces join the good fight. That includes talk show host, actress, and one-time scream queen Drew Barrymore. Kathryn Hahn recently stopped by The Drew Barrymore Show to talk about her new Apple TV+ show The Shrink Next Door. But, of course, Barrymore couldn’t help but take a minute to talk business. Marvel business, that is.

After the usual niceties and adorable family stories, Barrymore switches gears. At around the five-minute mark, she asks Hahn about her WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: House of Harkness. Now, of course, at this point Hahn is something of a Marvel vet. She knows t keep her lips tightly sealed. Although, interestingly, she says she didn’t even know the show’s title until its announcement on Disney+ Day.

While noting Marvel’s penchant for super secrecy—a.k.a. the “Marvel muzzle”— Barrymore was most interested in the extra-dimensional Demon. Specifically about whether Mephisto will appear in Hahn’s series and who will play the character in the MCU. Yes, Drew Barrymore—or her staff—are very invested in Mephisto’s imminent arrival. The host did not beat around the bush, straight up asking, “Is it possible that Mephisto might be making some type of appearance?”

Hahn played coy, noting that it was a big thing during WandaVision—for which the internet is very welcome. Then she gave a very long answer that has us wondering: are all signs pointing to Mephisto? Kathryn, blink once if it’s a “yes” and twice if it’s a “yes but Mephisto actually debuts in Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Barrymore follows up by asking Hahn who she’d cast as Mephisto if she could. Here at Nerdist we’re manifesting Mephisto’s inevitable MCU arrival. But it certainly looks like Drew Barrymore is manifesting her MCU arrival. As who? Mephisto, of course. And I have to say, I kind of dig it.
