If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s a great motto, and one the MCU has been smart enough to employ when it comes to the Netflix Marvel universe. Charlie Cox, of course, reprised his role as Daredevil for the MCU and will soon get his own series, Daredevil: Born Again. Joining him in the move to the MCU is Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. And now, one more member of the Netflix Marvel team has reportedly made the jump as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal will slide into the role Frank Castle once more in Daredevil: Born Again. And thus, Bernthal will become the MCU’s infamous anti-hero Punisher.

Jon Bernthal Punisher from Netflix reportedly joins the MCU

With Cox and D’Onofrio already back in the saddle, as well as the Netflix Marvel shows’ move to Disney+, it seemed only a matter of time for more familiar actors to join in the fun. We’ll be glad to see Bernthal’s Punisher back in play. We also feel Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage could even join him and the rest in time. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see about that. We don’t even have official confirmation on Bernthal yet.

We also don’t know too much yet about Daredevil: Born Again, so it’s hard to say where Bernthal and Punisher could fit into the MCU mix. But with eighteen episodes to spare, there’s certainly enough room for a special guest or two. And, who knows, in time, we may even see an MCU Punisher show.

Like with Daredevil, it will likely remain unclear whether this Punisher is a reboot or a continuation of the Netflix Marvel iteration. But does it even really matter that much? Either way, we can’t wait to see what the MCU version of the character gets up to.
