The spread of COVID-19 has led to a larger percentage of the population wearing face coverings. Some local governments are making them mandatory. So if you find yourself needing to wear a cloth face mask (consult local and federal government guidelines), you may as well sport a design with a little oomph. This attention grabbing look from CPEX couldn’t be more fun. It incorporates non-toxic heat activated pigments to transform from a plain black mask into the Marauder’s Map from Harry Potter. The word magical applies here.

But before we go any further, please observe how the fabric changes to reveal the very helpful and not at all creepy map.

I’m enchanted. Though I’m sure Filch would not approve.

CPEX, a small business based in Colorado, came up with the Marauder’s Map cotton mask design. The Harry Potter mask will change just from the warmth of your breath, but it’s more satisfying if point your wand at the mask and utter, “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” I would probably do it several times a day if I owned this mask. I would also pair it with my knit Hufflepuff scarf despite warm temperatures.

And speaking of owning this mask, let’s review how you can do so. CPEX’s transforming Marauder’s Map face mask will be available for pre-order on Friday, May 29, at 5:00pm MT. Go ahead and bookmark the site now if you’re interested. This design has sold out in past pre-order listings.

Remember, a cloth face mask doesn’t take the place of PPE such as N95 masks. It will not prevent transmission of the coronavirus on its own. Follow CDC guidelines for best use.
