The holidays are a time for celebration. A time for mistletoe and gingerbread cookies… And Kevin Bacon? Well, that’s true if you ask the Guardians of the Galaxy. The first trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has finally released to get us in a festive mood. And it features all of our favorite friends ready to experience the holiday season together for the first time. Star-Lord, Mantis, Drax, Nebula, Kraglin, Cosmo, Rocket, Groot… And even Kevin Bacon. They’ve all gathered in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer to bring us joy for the holidays. Not to mention, we also finally know when this special will release.

Sean Gunn’s Kraglin Obfonteri kicks of the Holiday Special trailer by letting the Guardians of the Galaxy know that on earth, it’s almost Christmas. Nebula doesn’t have time for such trivialities, although we feel certain she’ll get to know the meaning of the holidays soon enough. But the rest of the team is still concerned about Star-Lord being sad over the loss of Gamora. So they do what any good team might do, go to earth to find him a really wonderful Christmas gift. That’s the heart of the holidays, after all. Isn’t it?

According to The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer, the perfect gift is a galaxy away. And hopefully, it will bring holiday cheer with it. Drax is on the right path. Someone special could help. But it’s probably not Kevin Bacon. Although his cameo in this trailer is hilarious.

This is one of the first times we’ll see an MCU team engaging in what seems to be pure fluff. Of course, the special will likely have Easter eggs and some kind of multiversal tie-ins. We know that this movie takes place between Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, so we assume it will set up MCU outings to come. But we like the idea of less serious adventures for our MCU heroes. Hopefully, more to come.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special releases on November 25. It will stream on Disney+.
