He’s one of the most iconic slasher’s in horror movie history, and it simply ain’t spooky season without at least one A Nightmare on Elm Street marathon running on TV. So as a way to celebrate the one and only Freddy Krueger, what better way could there be than to make all that beautiful wickedness melt away like the Wicked Witch of the West? He did dress up as her once in the movie Freddy’s Dead after all. So it’s only fitting.

This super creepy time-lapse video comes to us from artist Steven Richter, who makes amazing sculptures based on famous pop culture characters. You may remember Richter made a stunning Thanos sculpture, as well as several others. Now, you can watch him make Freddy melt away in the video down below:

Maybe the coolest part of this whole endeavor is that Richter created the crayon sculpture over a toy skeleton. It makes it all that much creepier. It also reminds us of of several scenes from the franchise. At the end of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, Krueger melts away in a burning factory. And in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Freddy’s skeleton comes to life and wreaks havoc in a junkyard against his enemies.

Richter got all the details right for this one. He even made sure that he found a hat that resembles the one Freddy famously wears in the films. And that’s not to mention his infamous sweater. It’s only a bust, so we don’t get to see his hands, Meaning there’s no glove of knives. But we know they are in there in spirit. Considering the whole thing is sculpted over a generic store bought skeleton, it’s quite amazing how much it looks like Robert Englund. We think Richter did the Springwood Slasher proud.
