Ms. Marvel continues its winning streak as one of the best MCU shows yet with its third episode. And just like every episode, it has surprises and callbacks for longtime fans. And episode three has some deep-cut references that will take Marvel fans back to the glory days of the ’90s. We break down every Easter egg in the latest Ms. Marvel episode on Nerdist News, which you can watch right here:

This chapter reveals that Kamala Khan’s abilities originate from a group of exiled Djinn from another dimension, known as the ClanDestine. Legendary artist Alan Davis, best known for his X-Men work back in the ’90s, created this group. ClanDestine was a relatively short-lived comic series, and the characters have been dormant for years. But leave it to the MCU to find a way to bring them back, albeit in a slightly different form.

Among other Marvel Comics references in this episode is a name drop of the Noor, or the Light Dimension. This was home to the exiled Djinn. This reality first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #203, and many fans saw it as the source of Monica Rambeau’s powers. Now, in the comics, Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan’s powers come from vastly different sources. But is Ms. Marvel telling us the MCU versions will all be far more connected? Sounds like it to us. We’ll know for sure when The Marvels arrives in theaters next year.

We also have a reference to what could be Kree Nega-Bands. The original Captain Mar-Vell wore these powerful gauntlets in the comics. Could they be making their way to the MCU via Ms. Marvel? The Kree experiments created the Inhumans in the comics, so if the Kree are involved in Kamala Khan’s story, it might be more like the comics than we thought. And there are even more Easter eggs than these, so be sure to watch the full video above.
