Mourning the loss of Stranger Things in the coming years? Well, you don’t have to feel too upset because apparently, the Duffer Brothers have something up their sleeves. They have an idea for a Stranger Things spinoff. But no one knows what this Stranger Things spinoff could be about, not even Netflix. No one, that is, except Finn Wolfhard.

The Duffer brothers shared more about this Stranger Things spinoff with Variety. They reveal:

We do have an idea for a spinoff that we’re super excited about … but we haven’t told anyone the idea yet, much less written it. We think everyone — including Netflix — will be surprised when they hear the concept, because it’s very, very different. But somehow Finn Wolfhard — who is one crazy smart kid — correctly guessed what it was going to be about. But aside from Finn, no one else knows!

What a way to reveal we may yet get more from the Stranger Things world. With Stranger Things 4 set to be the penultimate season and Stranger Things 5 slated as the final outing for the show, we were just getting ready to say our goodbyes. But maybe we shouldn’t get too excited because not even Stranger Things‘ streaming home has heard about a spinoff yet. Now the rest of the world has though, so we guess conversations will be happening soon.

But what could a Stranger Things spinoff be about? The options are too numerous to even delve into. With a rich world and many characters, it could go many ways. Our only clue is that, apparently, Finn Wolfhard knew exactly which direction to look in. We guess it’s time to think like Mike. Personally, we’d love to see a Stranger Things spinoff set in the ’90s.

As we ponder this quandary, we’ll also get ourselves ready for Stranger Things 4 Volume One. The first part of season four premieres on May 27. And it brings with it seven long episodes of Stranger Things goodness. Maybe the answer to what a Stranger Things spinoff lies in one of them.
