For a lot of us around the US, it’s looking more and more likely that Halloween will be canceled. Sure, you can still carve a pumpkin and watch scary movies indoors. But going to haunts and trick or treating is unlikely in most coronavirus hot spots. Los Angeles has just officially canceled trick or treating within county lines this year. And they are probably not the last major city to do so.

But, undoubtedly, there will be some places where trick or treating is still happening this year. And thanks to Laughing Squid, we’ve learned about a very cool way to still do it both safely and festively. The Wicked Makers YouTube channel’s latest video shows how to make a wonderfully eerie candy slide. This will enable home owners to still give that delicious Halloween candy to all the neighborhood kids, while still staying a safe six feet apart.

This DIY build is relatively simple to make, and is mainly made out of PVC pipes. You can then decorate it in your own style. You can make it a witch, a goblin, or any kind of spooky icon of the season. Although we have to say, we are partial to the Wicked Makers’ candy-giving skeleton. It’s hard to go wrong with a classic Halloween staple like that.

For the past couple of years, the Wicked Makers have shared several great DIY ideas for how to create awesome Halloween decorations for one’s home. They’ve made videos ranging from how to make incredible graveyards for your front yard, to your own spooky looking life size mummy. They even have a video which shows how to create those faux fireflies found in Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. If Halloween festivities are still happening in your neck of the woods this year, then you might want to head on over to the Wicked Makers channel and start taking notes.
