Everyone is trying to do what they can during this unprecedented global crisis. With the comics industry heavily impacted by the coronavirus shutdown, DC Comics CCO and Publisher Jim Lee is doing what he does best, drawing. Lee is auctioning off 60 sketches over 60 days to raise money for comic shops all over the country via the Book Industry Charitable Foundation. Today we’re super excited to exclusively reveal his most recent incredible sketch of Cassie Sandsmark a.k.a. Wonder Girl!

Jim Lee Reveals WONDER GIRL For #60Sketches60Days (Exclusive)_1

Jim Lee

Lee first announced the #60Sketches60Days project with a stunning sketch of Nightwing on his Instagram account.

“Here’s a chance to get some original art and do something good during these unprecedented times,” Lee explained. “I’ll be drawing and posting 60 different sketches—one a day over the next two months which I will then be auctioning off with all the proceeds going to different random brick and mortar stores. High bidder of each sketch gets to pick the next DC character I draw for the very next sketch! No character to be repeated!”

This is the tenth in Lee’s series of sketches for charity and so far Lee has created some truly incredible pieces of art which have been auctioned on eBay. So far, Jim has raised over $50k for the Book Industry Charitable Foundation and like his other sketches, the auction for Wonder Girl will be live for three day.

His last sketch, a take on Kelley Jones iconic Red Rain: Batman, has currently reached over $10,000! Other characters he’s taken on include Batman Beyond, Doomsday, Big Barda, Azreal, The Batman Who Laughs, and Doctor Fate. Lee’s generosity has already encouraged other amazing artists like Art Adams and Bryan Hitch. We think this is an awesome way for creators and fans to support comic shops, plus if you’re the highest bidder you’ll get to take home a one of a kind piece of art, plus you’ll get to pick who Jim sketches next. But don’t worry if you can’t afford to buy an original piece as all of the sketches will be used as DC Comics variant covers on future issues!

You can support the Book Industry Charitable Foundation by keeping an eye on Lee’s sketches on the #60Sketches60Days eBay page or supporting the foundation directly on its website.
