It is a good time to be a Bryan Fuller fan or a fannibal or a casual Hannibal fan or even just a fan of things that are good. They say things come in threes and that is certainly being proven right, although, we’re still crossing our fingers for a fourth piece of welcome news. For now though, we feel excited to celebrate Bryan Fuller’s triumphant Queer for Fear. And his upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series. AND his long overdue reunion with Hannibal‘s Mads Mikkelsen. Mikkelsen and Fuller will team up on a movie called Dust Bunny. And it sounds like an excellent adventure.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that “Dust Bunny will tell the story of an eight-year-old girl who enlists the help of her intriguing neighbor to kill the monster under her bed that she believes ate her family.”

We assume Mads Mikkelsen will play her intriguing neighbor in this Bryan Fuller creation. But also, he may or may not also play the monster under the bed. The movie will also “throwback to the family horror films of the ’80s.” Sounds like a ton of fun.

Entertainment One and Thunder Road will co-produce Dust Bunny alongside Bryan Fuller. Fuller will also write, direct and produce the movie. We know that means it will simply slay. Principal production begins in January 2023.

Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal
NBC

If Hannibal has proven anything, it’s that Mikkelsen is capable of playing a terrifying supernatural creature and a dad who is just trying to be the best dad he can be all at once. We can’t wait to see what comes of this collaboration. But we can’t help but hope that in addition to getting an incredible movie, this Fuller and Mikkelsen movie will help get us one step closer to Hannibal season four. Well, we can dream, can’t we?

Three cheers for Bryan Fuller, Mads Mikkelsen, and anything that brings them together.
