Back when the character of Venom first debuted in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man, he was a straight-up bad guy. With his mouth full of sharp teeth and his claw-like hands, he was the very definition of a monster. But whenever a monster in pop culture gets popular enough, they seem to have a rehabilitation towards being a hero. Such was the case with Venom. And an entire generation of kids from the ’90s grew up wanting to bond with a slimy alien symbiote/future movie star. And now, they can—sort of. At least on an Instagram filter.

Thanks to Market Research Telecast, we’ve learned that as part of the Venom: Let There Be Carnage promotion, Insta users will soon be able to become one with the alien symbiote, just like Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock character. Not only will you be able to bond with Venom, but also the far more dangerous Carnage symbiote. Unfortunately, this filter does not give you a version of Woody Harrelson’s bad wig from the end of the first Venom movie. You have to settle with just being a weird red murder monster.

Right now, this promotion seems to only come from Sony Spain Instagram. However, we’re pretty sure U.S. Instagram will have it soon too. Especially with the Venom sequel landing relatively soon in theaters. Of course, there were similar Venom Instagram and Snapchat filters for the first film. But now, Carnage is part of the deal. And everyone knows he’s a totally cooler-looking character anyway.

We’re not exactly sure if the standard Venom filters differ significantly from the old ones, which were pretty cool. But if you missed getting one for yourself the last time they were a thing three years ago when the first film came out, this is your chance. But if you start referring to yourself as “we” all the time, though, don’t blame us. We’re just the messengers.
