It feels like only yesterday that The CW teased that Batwoman would be joining their annual Arrowverse crossover and that, depending on the reception, they were also developing a series based around the character. Well, this morning we got our first look at Ruby Rose as Kate Kane in the iconic red and black Batwoman suit. This gorgeous version of the costume was designed by none other than frequent Tim Burton collaborator and four-time Oscar-winner Colleen Atwood! In the comics, Kate Kane is a brilliant fighter and strategist, inspired by Batman and utilizing her training from the military academy that she attended as a young woman. Fans were incredibly excited that a queer woman was cast in the role, as Batwoman is one of the highest-profile lesbian superheroes in comics, and fans are hoping to see her sexuality represented when she heads to screens later this year. We’re super excited to see Rose bring Kate Kane to life and hopefully introduce another even more badass woman to the world of Arrow. With her direct connection to Bruce Wayne and his recent name drop in Arrow, it seems like DC’s other most famous hero is getting ever closer to hitting the streets of Star City… but with Batwoman around, who needs him?Are you excited to see Kate Kane swing into the Arrowverse? Pumped to see Ruby Rose fight crime? Can’t wait for December to get here already? Grab your cape and cowl and let us know below!
