It’s never too late to watch or rewatch Avatar: The Last Airbender. A fantasy epic told in beautifully stylized animation, Avatar follows Aang, the last survivor of his nation… and the last airbender. Get it? It’s the title. Anyway, Avatar is set in a sprawling world comprised of four nations based on the elements of water, earth, fire, and, air. With high stakes, a spirited ensemble cast, and some very cute critters, Avatar is magical. And it’s about to be easier than ever to enjoy because it’s coming to Netflix next month—specifically on May 15.

In a time when we’re taking absolutely any silver linings we can, this is like a gift falling out of the sky. I can’t imagine a better way to use free time than to sit down and binge this series from Nickelodeon. It’s that good. Debuting in 2005 from co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: The Last Airbender is the kind of animated series that doesn’t come along often. For me, it’s up there with  Batman: The Animated Series and  Star Wars: The Clone Wars. And fittingly, more than a couple of folks from Avatar worked on The Clone Wars–including Dave Filoni.

The mythology is dense and rich. While it’s certainly simple enough for kids to follow, adults will find plenty to sink their teeth into. The animated show, which wrapped after three seasons in 2008, inspired a live-action film (please don’t go watch it) and an upcoming live-action series from Netflix. Hey, what a coincidence. Maybe that live-action series contributes to why the original Avatar is coming to Netflix now.

Avatar: The Last Airbender will arrive to Netflix in the United States on May 15.
