Rogue One showed the end of Captain Cassian Andor’s story. But the Star Wars standalone film also offered a glimpse at the work Andor did for the Rebellion long before. His time fighting the Empire dated back to when he was just six years old and led him to do terrible things. Now we’re going to see how he became one of the most fearsome Rebels in the galaxy far, far away. He’s returning with his own Disney+ prequel show. And if Andor’s trailers are any indication of what we can expect from the series, it could be one of the franchise’s best ever, especially since it will also mark the return of other legendary heroes. The only downside is we’ll have to wait a little longer to see it because the release date for Andor has officially been delayed.

Trailers can be deceptive. On occasion, they can make something look a lot better than it actually is. But it’s difficult to fake quality over multiple promos. And it’s even harder to deliver truly amazing teasers without great source material. And this latest look at Andor is the series’ second straight phenomenal trailer. I’m ready to run through a brick wall if it means tackling an Imperial officer on the other side. Especially because this show, about standing against the spread of fascism, could not feel more timely.

But Andor is about a lot more than just Diego Luna’s Cassian. It will explore how the Rebellion spread like a flame throughout the entire galaxy. Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

The Andor series explores a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

The show also stars Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Fiona Shaw, and Forest Whitaker as the famed Rebel-turned-extremist, Saw Gerrera. Saw Gerrera made his live-action debut in Rogue One and will return to the Star Wars universe in Andor. We got our first looks at him in Andor‘s latest trailer.

Andor’s first season will feature 12 episodes. It debuts with its first three installments at Disney+ on Wednesday, September 21. That’s almost a month later than its original August 31 release date. Truly, this is not what we wanted to hear. But we’ll look at the bright side of the delay. Hopefully, it means we’ll get at least one more incredible trailer before its premiere. And, now that the release date for Andor has changed, we will get a chunk of episodes right away, instead of having to wait.
