We cannot hide from our ghosts… no matter whether they are real. These ominous words come from none other than famed detective Hercule Poirot. Kenneth Branagh is bringing this mustachioed sleuth to life again in A Haunting in Venice, an upcoming film based on Agatha Christie’s Hallowe’en Party (1969) novel. Another mystery awaits, it seems. The trailer for A Haunting in Venice certainly sets the stage for a haunting night with ghostly frights.
Once again, somebody is dead, and no one can leave until Poirot knows who committed the crime. Other Poirot movies have brushed on acts of the impossible, but the A Haunting in Venice trailer takes us deep into the world of the supernatural. Do ghosts exist? It seems like Poirot’s about to question the core of his beliefs about reality. But, despite talking to ghosts, we bet he will find out there’s a rational explanation to all of this… Though not before Poirot has to go deep into the truths about what haunts him. “Every murderer is somebody’s old friend,” Poirot says in the trailer—and this A Haunting in Venice quote will linger with us.

A Haunting in Venice is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.
