ARROW Takes Aim at Comic-Con 2015

The cast of the CW’s Arrow, the cornerstone of the rapidly expanding DC TV Universe, appeared at Comic-Con 2015 in San Diego Saturday to tell us what we can expect when the Emerald Archer returns for his fourth season this fall. When we last saw Oliver Queen (spoiler alert for those who’ve not watched the show’s third season finale), he was driving off into the sunset with Felicity Smoak by his side, having, for the time being, hung up his bow and quiver to find some joy in life with his lady love. But star Stephen Amell told me and a few other reporters that while the two are going to try to make their relationship work for at least a little while, Oliver being Oliver, begins to grow restless, feeling once more the need to battle evil, wherever it rears its head. Emily Bett Rickards (pictured above) told us that Felicity will shed far fewer tears in season four and that she was dissatisfied with the characters frequents crying scenes last season.

Meanwhile, actor John Barrowman says that although Malcolm Merlyn is now the new Ra’s al Ghul, he won’t immediately become a threat to Team Arrow, and might even aid them from time to time. Merlyn will, however, need to watch his back around Nyssa, the murder of whose lover, Sarah Lance, she still holds him responsible for.

As for Thea’s future as a champion of Starling City, Willa Holland said that for the time being she might be going by the alias Speedy, although at some point Thea herself may wish to be called Red Arrow.
