Why ANT-MAN AND THE WASP are Not Your Average AVENGERS

There clearly aren’t any “average” Avengers (no not even Hawkeye), but even among Earth’s mightiest heroes Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne stand out, mostly by standing so small. Their amazing– and incredibly powerful–ability to shrink is not the only thing that separates them from the rest of Marvel’s superheroes though, and in this new video celebrating the most unique members of the MCU, the Nerdist staff reflects on all the ways Ant-Man and the Wasp made for a very exciting, very fun, and very different Marvel movie. From their surprising strength and the way their enemies never see them coming, to their underdog status in a universe full of giant green monsters and bigger-than-life personalities, to their personal relationship and sense of humor (which we really needed after Infinity War’s devastating ending), to Scott’s gi-ant potential both as a hero and a dad, Ant-Man and the Wasp offered a unique take on the MCU. Not to mention it gave us the Quantum Realm, which we bet a whole bunch of dusted Avengers are really gonna need.

We obviously love Ant-Man the Wasp for a lot of reasons, but there’s one thing we really have to point out: do you realize how hard it is to make a car chase original? They’ve been doing car chases for as long as they’ve been making cars and movies, but never before did one involve a giant Pez and a shrinking truck. Our only complaint is we wish we were there when Luis told Kurt and Dave the whole story. Thanks to Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp for making this video possible! Bring home Ant-Man and the Wasp on Digital, Movies Anywhere, Blu-ray & 4K UHD Today. What was your favorite part of Ant-Man and the Wasp? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below, but maybe try to keep it a little shorter than a Luis story.
