AMERICAN GODS Finds Its Mad Sweeney, Technical Boy, and Bilquis

The cast of Bryan Fuller’s American Gods is slowly expanding in weird, wonderful, and intriguing ways — and it’s making us all the more excited as we ramp up towards the series’ premiere. As his world of old gods and new continues to grow, we’re all the more confident in Fuller’s adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel of the same name. So let’s all welcome the newest members of the gang: Sean Harris, Yetide Badaki, and Bruce Langley.

The trio join the already cast Shadow Moon (The 100‘s Ricky Whittle), Laura Moon (Emily Browning), and Mr. Wednesday (Game of Thrones/Deadwood‘s Ian McShane). If you don’t want to know who these three will be playing in the series—because spoilers and whatnot—do not read on! We should also probably note that we’ve reached out for independent confirmation of this information but had yet to hear back at the time of publication.

Up first, everyone’s favorite leprechaun and Mr. Wednesday employee, Mad Sweeney, who will be portrayed by Sean Harris, who’s perhaps most well-known for his work in Prometheus, Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation, and The Borgias. Mad’s problems are many, having lost his way—and his charm!—by methods he cannot currently understand.

Playing everyone’s favorite goddess of love—with a seriously thirsty relevance complex—Bilquis would be Yetide Badaki, whose previous roles include work on Masters of Sex and Aquarius. And last but not least? Technical Boy, that wily New God with a technological hoarding problem and some serious insecurity issues. (Always trying to prove himself, grasping at respect and power with unpredictable results, that one!) He will be portrayed by—you guessed it!—Bruce Langley, whose previous work is largely stage-related.

Needless to say, our bodies couldn’t be more ready for this series. Now if they could only just start shooting the dang thing so that we can see images from the set already! Who are you excited to see them cast? Let us know in the comments below.
