AMC Unleashes First Three Minutes of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD

We are only days away from the premiere of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, a companion series to the runaway hit, The Walking Dead. The advertising and hype for the show has been ruling the summer, and with the premiere so close at hand, AMC has decided to give everyone a little sneak peek into the madness they can expect. So on Thursday, AMC’s Facebook page played host to a three minute preview of the new series, setting up the opening of the pilot episode—which you can watch right here, right now:

For a show based around the post-apocalypse and zombie outbreaks, opening in a rundown church is about par for the course. We first meet Nick, one of our core cast members played by Frank Dillane, as he is waking from what can be assumed is a drug-induced slumber. Our three minute exposure to the show brings us around the dilapidated church Nick is hanging out in as he looks for his girlfriend. After stumbling across a dead body, and arming himself with a candle holder, Nick does eventually find Gloria, but she seems a little worse for wear as she eats what’s left of another corpse.

Already it’s clear that the episode shares its tone with that of the pilot of The Walking Dead. A solitary person wakes up, unsure of where he is or what has happened, and eventually stumbles across the undead. While the original show’s pilot had Rick Grimes waking from a coma to find the world has ended, we know that this is not the case with Fear The Walking Dead. There will come a point where Nick will escape the church of the dead and once making his way outside, we will probably see that no one else is at all aware of his moment of terror—the world carrying on as normal.

Are you as pumped as we are to see the other 55-or-so minutes of this episode on Sunday? Then sound off in the comments below!
