Alan Tudyk Wrote a K-2SO Story for IDW’s STAR WARS ADVENTURES (Exclusive)

Actor Alan Tudyk has already been a sci-fi icon for several years now, thanks principally to his work in Joss Whedon properties like Firefly, Serenity, and Dollhouse. But Tudyk really got his chance to earn his spot among the geek elite when he stole the show as the reprogrammed Imperial droid K-2SO in last year’s Star Wars standalone movie Rogue One.

While its unlikely that Tudyk will be reprising his role as the lovable (but also kind of not?) robot anytime soon–you’ll of course understand what I mean if you’ve seen the movie–he is contributing a story to issue #3 of IDW Comics‘ new all ages series Star Wars Adventures. And yes, the story does indeed feature K-2SO in action once again.

Tudyk is co-writing a backup story in that issue titled “Adventures in Wookiee-Sitting”: an adorable all-ages Star Wars tale featuring K-2SO, rebel Captain Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna in Rogue One), and some baby Wookiees. And seriously, what kind of Grinch doesn’t love baby Wookiees? Tudyk had this to say about his upcoming story:

“I wrote some of K-2SO’s words in this. I know how he speaks and thinks since I spoke and thunk him in Rogue One.”

Well, that right there has us sold. How about you? You can have a sneak peek at the upcoming story down below, and be sure to pick up Star Wars Adventures #3 when it hits comic books shops on October 11th.

Are you excited for Tudyk’s return to the galaxy far, far away? Let us know down below in the comments.
