Adorable Counting App for Tykes & Tykesses

My dear friend Divya–one of the coolest artists ever–has created a gorgeous interface for a counting app called Splish Splash Inn. If you have an iPhone or iPad and want to occupy your young one with some quality edutainment, this app will teach them how to count, a skill I’ve had to use at least eleventy times.

I wish I had had this when I was a kid, though I am happy to have spent much time with Sesame Street’s resident OCD vampire pedagogue, The Count. SPOILER ALERT: In an interesting cast addition to True Blood season 4, I hear he starts banging Sookie Stackhouse while she’s on the rebound from Bill Compton, only to embrace true death by running into the sunlight after going mad while trying to correctly count the number of times Tara’s lip quivers in an average day.

Finally got around to buying this app for my daughter to use on (my) iPad. She loves it!

  2. Melissa says:

Sadly, I don’t like babies, so it’s a good thing I don’t have any, but the effect reminds me of this happy little nook of the interworld:

  3. Luanne says:

I just read yesterday that this season Sesame Street is doing a True Blood parody called “True Mud.” Awesomeness!

  4. Deltus says:

Three! Three True Blood references! AH-AH-AH-AH-AH!

  5. xtina says:

snort! I am gonna get the app for my kids just so I can think S is for Sookie and chortle to myself while they play. I like The Count, too, but do you really think he’s Sookie’s type?

  6. kalita says:

    Looks cute.

  7. DefconDan says:

See if I had this… what do you call it? ah yeah TECHNOLOGY when I was growing up in the crapiest section of NYC, I wouldn’t have had to venture outside… luckily there were enough crack vials that I could count the hundred-est.

Cool art style though… very nice.

kids, learning, seasme street, S is for Sookie, banging on the rebound AND quivering lips… ALL IN ONE POST, 2 Paragraphs! If only there was a Star Wars reference in there I might just have to take it in a dark corner and make sweet sweet hot dirty sexy times to it!! But alas.. Hardwick, you fail in the star wars reference, again!

  9. Geekasms says:

Love this app, and the art supplied for Peek-a-Boo Barn and Peek-a-Boo Wild is as wonderful!
