Remember how much trouble Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald had with technology in the first Zoolander movie? (Also, who knew that Hansel’s last name is McDonald?)
It’s been 14 years since Zoolander, and in the upcoming Zoolander 2–which is set to his theaters on February 12, 2016–it looks like the two have gotten with the times and are no longer scared by computers. Derek and Hansel have embraced smartphones, because obviously: There are two cameras with which to take selfies, and there’s no way they haven’t fully embraced the photo-sharing wonders of Instagram, perhaps even the you of Vine’s looping videos. They can watch themselves in perpetuity! Or at least until their batteries die!
Don’t believe us? Check below for the new poster for the movie, which was revealed today.
The movie that will soon be upon us has supposedly been in the works since 2008, when Stiller said, “I’ve been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we’ve had a few scripts. I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first.”
We don’t know much about the plot yet, but the cast sure seems worthy: Will Ferrell, Christine Taylor, and even Billy Zane are returning to their roles. Saturday Night Live alums Kristin Wiig and Fred Armisen are also in the mix, as well as current cast members Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett. Oh yeah, and Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande are on board as well.
There’s a lot of good in the world, guys.
