Every year it feels as if we’ve waited eons for entire seasons of our favorite shows to hit Netflix. We’re already suffering withdrawal from this week’s House of Cards binge (keep posted for our recaps!), and soon we’ll have the Litchfield ladies of OITNB to celebrate and then mourn.
Another exciting addition to Netflix streaming is Sense8, the first TV series from Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix, Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending). While their most recent films haven’t been everyone’s cup of tea, we are fascinated by the Wachowskis‘ stories and style, and think that TV might be the perfect medium for them. (Our own Dan Casey shared his thoughts on why the Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending is so important for original sci-fi, so make sure you give that episode of The Dan Cave a watch.)
Last but not least, we finally have the release date for one of the best things to happen to comedy in a long, long time: the Wet Hot American Summer prequel/limited series hits Netflix July 17th, and we could not be more excited. Not only is everyone and their mother coming back to reprise their roles (yes, even Bradley Cooper!), but the fact that it’s a prequel means we’ll see the much-older actors playing younger versions of themselves–only hilarity can ensue.
Are you ready for a summer of Netflix goodness? Let us know which series you’re the most excited for in the comments below.
