Watch the Trailer for INTRAMURAL, A Sports Movie Parody For The Ages

Almost 100% of the time, sports movies are about professional sports, or, at the very least, sports with animals magically playing despite being without opposable thumbs or any sense of what’s going on. Intramural sports, a level of play that’s more attainable for the non-athlete, is almost never the focus of a sports movie. Luckily, the sports parody movie Intramural, directed by Andrew Disney (not related to THAT Disney, as far as I can tell) and written by Bradley Jackson, is here to change that.

Featuring a cast of Saturday Night Live‘s Kate McKinnon, Jay Pharoah, Beck Bennett, BriTANick‘s Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher, Nick Rutherford (part of sketch group Good Neighbor) with Bennett, hilarious author/comedian DC Pierson, and Sam Eidson from our own Zero CharismaIntramural has the makings to be the Airplane! of sports movies.

Just watch the trailer to see exactly what I’m talking about, then, if you’re at the Tribeca Film Festival in New Yorl this month, you can catch its premiere April 19th.

  1. IM Ref says:

The movie has a lot of wrongs. In intramural football per NIRSA rules, you don’t use a tee to kick the ball off, there is no kick off to start the game. T shirts must be tucked in and pants/shorts can’t have pockets.

saw it at Tribeca. Funny film with great cast. It is predictably unpredictable. several belly laughs in the film. It didn’t help me pass the LSAT but I was still talking about it days later. I would recommend if you need a good laugh.

  3. tse says:

    oh spartanmonkey…nevermind

  4. John says:

I already have my tickets to see it at Tribeca!!! Super excited.

  5. SeaBee810 says:

@Spartanmonkey mentioning those ringers gets people to pay attention to what seems to be a pretty damned funny college flick

  6. Maarthy says:

SpartanMonkey, it will appeal to me. I honestly can’t wait to see this flick because of the cast. Also, it’s supposed to be a comedy movie so all these people from the trailer make sense.

  7. SpartanMonkey says:

So you’re pretty much taking all of the recent SNL ringers and putting them in the same movie, and hoping it will appeal to whom exactly?
