It turns out that everything nice is really just a barrel of dildos. At least, that’s what happens when you mash-up the worlds of Grand Theft Auto V and The Powerpuff Girls like Merfish did in his recreation of the TV show’s opening theme song in the famously violent game.
In the show, it is reported that the girls were created with a mixture of sugar, spice, everything nice and Chemical X, but if GTA is to be believed, their origin is owed more to hard alcohol, marijuana, dildos and propane. That probably explains why instead of a trio of cute little girls zooming around in the sky, you get three old-ish men in tights, hovering and humping the air.
The violence is also way more real in this new version. Credit to the original where it’s due (they do knock HIM’s teeth out in a bloody mess), but that’s nothing compared to the stabbing and shootings with a rifle and machine gun that the GTA-ized baddies experience.
In case you weren’t aware, the series is getting a reboot this year, so maybe this is the direction the new series will go? Unsurprisingly, that doesn’t seem to be the case: It appears the animation style will remain largely the same as the original series, although all of the original cast isn’t returning to the show. Tom Kenny is reprising his roles as the narrator and the Mayor, and Roger L. Jackson and Jennifer Hale will return as Mojo Jojo and Ms. Keane (respectively), but many parts have been recast, including those of the girls themselves.
