The Walking Dead has been such a huge hit for so long now that it’s hard to find anything that hasn’t had the comic or AMC TV show’s brand placed on it at some point. In fact, it is highly surprising that I haven’t heard of a Walking Dead-themed beer before this new release from Terrapin Beer Co. I mean, Game Of Thrones had both it’s own line of beers and wines come out not-that-long-ago, and now fans will have just another reason to host viewing parties when the sixth season of The Walking Dead premieres in October.
Terrapin’s “Blood Orange IPA” is described as a “bloodthirsty Red IPA made with blood orange peel and a horrific amount of hops.” It will apparently be 6.7% Alc/Vol, which is a common range for craft beers, so be sure you are within shambling distance of your house if you plan on having a few. This new addition to Terrapin’s line of beers hits pretty close to home, literally, with The Walking Dead taking place in Atlanta (mostly)– Terrapin’s headquarters and bottling locations are close by in Athens, Georgia.
The bottle features a Walking Dead-themed label, including Terrapin’s iconic turtle all zombified, and will hopefully be available for Dead-heads by the time the new season premieres. There is not, however, any solid date announced yet on when the brew will be available, nor any word on which retailers will carry it. So for now, you’ll have to drink your lame old living person’s beers.
