The internet has once again done what it does best, as Ubisoft’s upcoming title, Far Cry Primal, was preemptively leaked on IGN Turkey yesterday. The next Far Cry game will be set in the savage world of Oros, and will take place during the brutal Stone Age — a time where the largest and strongest beasts were the conquerors of the land.
Players will assume the role of Takkar, a lone hunter who, unfortunately, becomes the last remaining member of his tribe. With no one left to stand by him in the wilderness, Takkar’s life becomes a constant struggle for survival. Far Cry Primal aims to uncover the brutality of the Stone Age and will task players with rebuilding their own tribe, developing the skills to lead them, facing off against enemy tribes, and defeating predators of all types in order to become the apex hunter.
In typical Far Cry fashion, players can expect to scout enemy outposts, hunt, craft, and traverse a play area that’s filled with wildlife. The decision to go back to the Stone Age, while it may seem interesting, is quite fitting considering the amount of hunting players found themselves doing in the last two games. With an intricate focus on realism, you’ll find that small elements like the scent of dead prey will play a big role in the types of enemies you’ll encounter.
Far Cry Primal is slated to release on February 23, 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Does the idea of a Far Cry game taking place in the Stone Age sound cool to you? Zipline down to the comments with your thoughts and check out the gallery below for more images!
