Oh hey, Monday. You’re back. Pardon me while I work on faking my enthusiasm about your arrival. Thankfully, I don’t have to fake being excited about today’s TV-Cap though. Keep looking forward to see a moving clip from the next Star Wars Rebels, to learn about the latest on Season 10 of Doctor Who, to get a heads-up on who will be in charge on MTV’s Scream, and more.
Not Just Any Pilot. The next episode of Star Wars Rebels, “Wings of the Master,” is Hera-centric. A new clip shows the talented pilot of the Ghost talking about her love of flying, and it is both poetic and moving. If the whole episode says as much about her character as this minute-long preview, we’re in for a treat on November 11. Star Wars Rebels airs on Disney XD.
More Zombies. Syfy’s Z Nation isn’t going anywhere just yet. The zombie series has been renewed for a 15-episode third season. Syfy didn’t confirm the exact premiere date, just that the next season will drop in 2016. Guess Murphy isn’t getting to California soon, huh? [TV.com]
Changing It Up. MTV renewed Scream early on and reportedly made the decision at that time to switch up showrunners for Season 2. The murderous series will return in April 2016, but instead of having Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia at the helm, it will have Michael Gans and Richard Register. Blotevogal is staying on board as a consultant. [Nerdist]
It’s All Good. Jimmy McGill constantly asked himself whether he was doing the right thing in Season 1 of AMC’s Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul. McGill was put in one frustrating situation after another and seemingly paid a price for being good. That’s starting to change, and you can see his path to becoming Saul Goodman. A clip for the second season highlights his conflict. The drama will return in 2016. [Nerdist]
Chicago, a.k.a. The North. How cold is Chicago? I don’t have the adjectives to describe it. George R.R. Martin called the chilly locale home and told the Chicago Tribune that one winter there was especially brutal–the blizzard of 1967. He talked about the trenches and tunnels of ice on the streets and said he supposed that was when the Wall in Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire began in his mind. [Nerdist]
Not So Welcome Back. Wynonna Earp, the granddaughter of Wyatt Earp, is coming home, but the town isn’t exactly rolling out the welcome wagon. The upcoming Syfy series based on Beau Smith’s comic of the same name will premiere in April 2016 with Melanie Scrofano in the lead role.
Syfy has released a poster and a synopsis: “…When she becomes the town’s only hope of eradicating mysterious demons, Wynonna must choose which side of the law she wants to fight on in order to clear the name of her legendary great grandfather Wyatt Earp once and for all.” [Nerdist]
Series In Full. If you heard rumors about Season 10 of Doctor Who being cut short, don’t panic–the rumors were wrong. Showrunner Steven Moffat piped up to the Radio Times and confirmed they’re making a full Series 10 with 12 episodes and a Christmas special. Whew. [Nerdist]
Questions. Don’t try to hide anything from Agent Melinda May. Like, everyone should know that. I’m looking at you, Andrew. In a clip from the next episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., May has questions for Andrew, and the discussion gets intense. [Nerdist]
What do you think of the clip from Star Wars Rebels? Do you agree that Scream needs to change hands? Let me know in the comments.
